چکیده

A number of hypothesis have been presented to explain the complex interactions occurring during brood reduction, but few simulation models successfully combines hypothesis together necessary to describe evolutionary stable strategies. In our solution we present a simple experimental simulation for brood reduction for which each sibling act as an autonomous agent that has the ability to initiate actions for cooperation and competition against others chicks within the same brood. Agents have a limited set of actions that can be activated during the onset of some environmental condition. Parameters for food distribution are determined on a basis of a former known theory for maximizing inclusive fitness. During the experimental simulations we have studied size and fitness measures with varying degree of asynchrony and prey density for siblings within the artificial brood. Results from the experimental simulation shows interesting similarities with brood reduction in a real world setting. Agents within the artificial brood respond with competitiveness whenever resources are limited. Simulated later hatching also showed a lower rate of survival because of natural size hierarchy to co-siblings within the simulated brood.

Investigation of relationship between some biological characteristics of female broodstocks with hatching, survival and early growth in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) larvae

In regarding to study the effect of biological parameters of female rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) brood stocks on girt, 30 specimen of rainbow trout brood stocks were selected from 3 different age class (3, 4, 5 years). The results showed, maximum of girt 36.35± 0.35cm , ovary weight 600±11.25 gr, hatching 90±4 % and larvae weight after hatching 0.15±0.01 were in 5 and 3 years old brood s...

Effect of different levels of dietary nucleotide on immunity and total protein plasma parameters of Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) female brood stock during maturation and eyestalk ablation

In this study, we investigated the effects of different levels of dietary nucleotide (0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6%) on immunity parameters and total protein plasma of Litopenaeus vannamei female brood stock in four experimental treatments (three replication per treatment) during the maturation period and after eye stalk ablation. Total soluble proteins and immunity parameters such as total haemocyte co...

Using game theory approach to interpret stable policies for Iran’s oil and gas common resources conflicts with Iraq and Qatar

Oil and gas as the non-renewable resources are considered very valuable for the countries with petroleum economics. These resources are not only diffused equally around the world, but also they are common in some places which their neighbors often come into conflicts. Consequently, it is vital for those countries to manage their resource utilization. Lately, game theory was applied in conflict ...

Cooperation, conflict, and crèching behavior in goldeneye ducks.

Crèching behavior, or brood amalgamation, results in offspring being reared by adults other than their genetic parents. Although a variety of hypotheses have been proposed to explain this behavior, most assume either that brood amalgamation is accidental (i.e., nonselected) or that adoption of young is selected for because of social benefits to the young and/or adopting parents. We propose, ins...

Brood size, sibling competition, and the cost of begging in great tits (Parus major)

Evolutionary theory of parent-offspring conflict explains begging displays of nestling birds as selfish attempts to influence parental food allocation. Models predict that this conflict may be resolved by honest signaling of offspring need to parents, or by competition among nestmates, leading to escalated begging scrambles. Although the former type of models has been qualitatively supported by...
